In this nuts-and-bolts session, you will learn how to plan for, manage, and use metadata in SharePoint 2010. In addition to viewing each task step-by-step, you'll be able to download helpful reference documents and ask specific questions about your application in a small group setting.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
At the end of the seminar, you should be able to:

  • Create a plan for implementing and using metadata in SharePoint 2010;
  • Add custom metadata elements and map them to SharePont crawled properties;
  • Import a term hierarchy (taxonomy) into the Metadata Management Service;
  • Customize and share metadata across SharePoint site collections;
  • Understand how metadata is used in lists/libraries, content types (document remplates), search results, and other SharePoint functions.

• Content and people search pages and search results
• Scopes and other SharePoint functions

COST
$650 per person (nonmembers), $400 per person (members of the Society of Knowledge Base Publishers). The fee includes slides, bibliography, and downloadable handouts that we've found to be especially useful.
